About Gadget Daily News

Gadget Daily News answers one question per article about gadgets, apps and the tech you already own: what happened to it, what changed, and what to do now. Every figure is sourced and dated, and we don’t claim testing we didn’t do.

Where the site came from

The gadgetdailynews.com domain first hosted a tech news blog in 2011, covering the iPad 2, Android tablets, the first 4G phones and the start of The Verge. It later ran as a photography and gadget blog in 2016, then sat unused for years.

The site was relaunched in October 2026 under new, independent ownership. None of the old posts were republished. Where people still link to an old article, that address now leads to a new article on the same subject, written from scratch and updated for today.

What we publish

We write explainers and buying advice for people who land here from a search with a specific question. Typical examples: what happened to BlackBerry, whether an old iPad is still usable, how to choose an action camera, or how to price photography work.

Each article starts with the short answer, shows a dated timeline where the history matters, and ends with numbered next steps and the list of sources we used.

What we don’t do

Who’s behind it

Gadget Daily News is a small independent site. Articles are credited to Gadget Daily News rather than to individual writers. How we work explains how articles are researched, checked and corrected.
